Fly Casting Resources
We have many PFBC-approved trout waters here in Venango County, which are outlined on the PFBC (Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission) website.
There is also a local FFI Fly Fishing Group (Keystone Fly Fishers) of which I am president, that offers Fly Tying Classes through the winter and can assist with fly casting equipment set-up and advice. Our streams have some of the best fly hatches in the state, and certainly the prime time to be on the water is April through mid-June.
One or two fly casting lessons can greatly improve your ability to fly fish and hopefully your success rate. At Narrow Loops Fly Casting, we strive to teach the various fly fishing casts to improve your ability on the water, which in turn makes your outing more enjoyable. My lessons are all about loop formation and control, which are the foundation or building blocks for all of fly casting. We concentrate on removing bad habits that hinder your ability to fly cast properly.
I have fly fished and tied flies for over 55 years and am very familiar with the various hatches on our local streams and the flies to imitate them.
